Florida Entreprenuer reaches out to youth with Community based Program;Entreprenuer Highlight: Robert Paige of Delantero.org

With an area facing a predicament of high numbers delinquent activity due to negative peer culture, juvenile crime and delinquency being committed; the probation, detention and corrections divisions, of the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice, are overloaded with youth referrals when other sanctions would be more appropriate. This has created a need for quality community programming and services for youth. The population growth and juvenile delinquency rate in the Central Florida is soaring high leading us to anticipate need for this organization, and its services in the Orlando-Orange County area.Hence the creation Of project Delantero.―Delantero,‖ [day-lahn-tay’-ro] means forward in Spanish. A project is a collaborative enterprise, frequently involving research or design, which is carefully planned to achieve a particular aim. The aim of Project Delantero is assisting youth of Orange County to move forward, not backwards. Project Delantero will be staffed with young, talented adults to achieve the goals of the organization. Project Delantero will prepare its clients to excel as young, successful, and law-abiding leaders of tomorrow by combining an array of services tailored specifically for the youth in the service area. Our organization will be classified as a 501(c) not for profit, serving the youth in Orange County, Florida. Our organization’s goal is to strengthen and empower youth where a positive difference can be made in their lives. An old proverb once said, ―It takes a village to raise a child.‖ With the changes going on it is obvious that community must take part in lives of young people to ensure success.
With that in mind, imagine an alternative to the ―norms‖ when holding youth accountable for themselves. Project Delantero’s mission is to serve our community, youth, and their families, promote education and employment stability, and staying committed to empower youth to make healthy and lawful life choices.
Project Delantero will be an organization that will assist youth in accountability, decision-making, and self-stability. The goal of the organization is to educate, empower, and hold the youth accountable for their actions and deeds. We will offer programs to the youth referred to the agency such as counseling, life-skills workshops, community service, education monitoring, substance abuse monitoring and serve as a liaison between the youth and the community (Introducing youth to military recruiters, education recruiters, and employment recruiters).
The staff at Project Delantero will have a strong commitment to the communities in Orange County. The organization will have an ―open door‖ policy for all who desire services that the office provides regardless of youth status (court appointed or not).
